Children’s Ballet Training

At BalletPrep, we offer classical ballet training for children, with a particular focus on the pre-ballet and early pre-professional years, when correct foundations are essential for healthy, long-term development.

Our children’s training follows a traditional Vaganova-based pedagogical structure, guiding students through the early stages of ballet education with careful attention to posture, alignment, turnout, coordination, musicality, and strength. The emphasis is on building the body correctly from the beginning, so that technique develops with clarity rather than through imitation alone.

While we work with children of varying levels, our strengths lie in pre-ballet education, foundational classical technique, and Ballet I, where habits are formed and technical understanding begins. These formative years play a decisive role in a dancer’s future, and thoughtful, methodical guidance at this stage can prevent years of correction later on.

Our approach to children’s training is informed by the broader BalletPrep framework, as well as principles of somatic learning and motor development. This allows us to adapt explanations, imagery, and teaching strategies to the individual child, supporting focus, body awareness, and confidence alongside technical growth—while remaining faithful to classical ballet pedagogy.

We work with families seeking serious, well-structured ballet education for their children, whether as preparation for a professional pathway or as a strong classical foundation that supports any future direction in dance.
